The aim of this book is to guide research students to understand the research processes and what is needed when they undertake a research study. Where we look at research as a formal or informal process that is undertaken to fill a gap in knowledge or build on an existing knowledge or create a new `knowledge. It also involves investigation of some kind which may be formal as seen in an exhaustive literature review or careful implementation of the scientific method, or may be informal, such as Google search. More formal investigation may be qualitative or quantitative in nature. Research envisioned through an information literacy lens is often academic in nature. This type of research will be referred to as "Academic research". Before I commence on the research process, it would be necessary to explain a few things about the business administration and academic degrees that go with it. Business administration is a discipline that examines business practices, management theory, and business disciplines. With a passion for leadership and excellent organizational skills, a degree in Business Administration may be your ticket to the career of your dreams especially if you need a degree program that will open doors to a variety of career options and has long-term staying power in the job market. From the point of view of management and leadership, it also covers fields that include office building administration, accounting, finance, designing, development, quality assurance, data analysis, sales, project management, information management, research and development, and industrial visits, and interaction with experts from industry., presentations, internship marketing.

The Author attended the Middlesex University in London, United Kingdom and holds master’s degree in business administration. He further holds a doctoral degree in Business administration with specialization in marketing at the Walden University, United States of America. Prior to this, he holds an engineering qualification from a school of engineering in München, then Western Germany. He also attended the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, an affiliation of Oxford University and obtained the Post Graduate Diploma in Petrochemical/Petroleum Business Management. He had over twenty years working experience with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in the Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company before retirement. He is presently the CEO, Joe Franz Global Consult LLC.
